Pre-Competitive (2 hr/week)

The Pre-Competitive program is for swimmers who would like to expand their knowledge and expertise without going to competitions. A team routine will be created to perform in the Winter and Spring Water Shows, as well as a possible duet or solo routine. Routines will depend on the number of registrations, and swimmers' skill levels, and are at the coaches' discretion.

Pre-requisites: Swimmer must have passed AquaGo level 4 or have the following skills: all skills from AquaGo 3/4 pre-requisites and front & back crawl, dive from kneeling, eggbeater, front & back layouts, alligator and propeller sculling, & sailboat position.

Note: A minimum of 3 participants is necessary to run the program.

Dates and Times: Tuesdays 5pm - 7 pm, October 7, 2025 - May 5, 2026

There will be no classes on November 11th, December 23rd or 30th, or April 7th.

Cost: $750 + AAS/CAS Fee + $400 volunteer bond = $1150 total registration + AAS/CAS Fee

Fundraising/Volunteer Bond: $400 (included with registration fee).  $200 up front for raffle tickets, $100 for the fall session, and $100 for winter session. The fall and winter session bonds will be returned to you at the end of the year if fundraising requirements are completed. You must participate in at least 2 fundraising events for your bond to be returned.

Pre-Competitive Clothing Requirements:

•  Three (3) nose clips
•  Goggles*
•  Swim Cap
•  Club T-shirt (included with registration)
•  One-piece athletic swimsuit. Please ensure the swimsuit fits correctly.
•  Routine suit (as determined by coach)
•  Black bottoms (shorts, capris or pants)

*One pair of goggles is sufficient for the beginning of the season but must be replaced if necessary.

Team Clothing Requirements:

Artistic swimming is a team sport and the GP Synquatics Club has required team clothing. Dressing uniformly instills a sense of unity and pride amongst the swimmers at both the recreational and competitive levels. When swimmers participate in club activities inside and outside of the pool, they represent the Grande Prairie Synquatics Club in all they do. We want the public to be able to identify the girls in their activities to help promote and applaud them. A club t-shirt is included with your registration. A variety of clothing with our logo will also be available for you to purchase at the beginning of the season. The link will be posted on our website and Facebook pages.
